The Trinity
God the Holy Spirit
John 6:63
It is the Spirit who gives eternal life. Human effort
accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit
and life.

This is not the spot where we will undertake a complete study on the Holy Spirit. That study is on my wish list. The focus of this study is on the Trinity.
We have seen how God exists
in three Persons. One of those Persons is the Holy Spirit. It is through
God&s Spirit that we are brought to an understanding of God and then empowered
to go forth and become Christ-like. As Jesus told Nicodemus, to become
a child of God, one must be born of the Spirit.
John 3:6 Humans can reproduce only human life, but
the Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven. NLT
And, it is through the Holy
Spirit that God truly abides in believers.
John 15:26 But I will send you the Counselor-the Spirit of truth. He will
come to you from the Father and will tell you all about me. NLT
On the other hand, as we have
seen in our study, the Trinity is not only active in creation and other
events of nature, the Trinity ministers in and to us.
John 14:16, 26 And I will ask the Father, and he
will give you another Counselor, who will never leave you. . . But when
the Father sends the Counselor as my representative-and by the Counselor
I mean the Holy Spirit-he will teach you everything and will remind you
of everything I myself have told you. NLT
God is at work in and around us in all parts of the Trinity. This is the great blessing of knowing and understanding the Trinity and how it operates. But, understand that the Holy Spirit is truly a separate Person, not just some power of God.
